The Call

It was, it was back in those days:
We worshipped life bright & grey,
Our names stretched long—into the past
For they served as blood-like clay,
That shaped us all in life-making art;
And no one even asked!

The meaning of our race craft.
Yet time and again we were invaded
By aliens who wished our life faded;
Be it Moors, the Mongols or the Turks—
No one but us! in the past made it:
We lived, we fought & died for our Earth,
It was life hard-earned,

And it must be well-learnt!
And what about the Anglo kneeling?
What about his family always fearing?
I say, break the chains! Break the constraints!
For we have suffered enough of alien jeering!—
And survived through much darker taints...

See it! for your own sake!
It is you who made the past day!
It is you who's fighting the decay!
It is you whom the future awaits.
