Jeanne Hachette
There are many Legends surrounding the bravery of this young girl I want to share my favourite with you.
It was 1472, Charles the Bold is in open rebellion against King Louis XI. His army lays siege to township after township The army of King Lois XI can not compare i regards of finance, number of soldiers and technology and so France fell into chaos and suffering.
On June 27, 1472, Charles the Bold laid siege to Beauvais, the citizens, simple farmers, without any hope to receive help, fall into despair when confronted with this superior army and decide to give in without a fight hoping to spare their women and children the cruelties of war.
Jeanne Laisne a girl of 18 years stand back watching and feeling a burning rage lighting her heart aflame. And then she has to endure one of Charles soldiers climb on top of her cities walls, take the flag of her city break it in half, throw it down and piss on it.
Without sparing a second thought she took a hatchet that was near her she ran up the city walls and threw that hatchet straight into the back of his scull killing that rebel on the spot. On that wall she then squatted down, lifted up her skirt and pissed on his copse.
This invigorated the spirits of the townspeople. They took whatever tools they had and took up the fight against Charles and his army with burning fervor
They fought the 80.000 enemy combatants until they were blessed with absolute victory on the 22nd of July.
When King Louis XI heard of the bravery and courage of this young girl he decided to honor her by lifting her up into nobility and offering her a man of noble birth in marriage. Jeanne now called Hachette accepted the title of nobility but rejected the man of noble birth and instead married a local towns boy Colin Pilon who she fell in love with to marry. The king blessed their love with many favors.
